There are three kinds of speaking situations you will most commonly find yourself in:
Interactive Speaking Situations:
Face-to-face conversations and telephone calls where you alternatively speak and listen and where you can ask for clarification, repetition or slower pace of speech from your speaking partner.
Partially Interactive Situations:
A speech to a live audience where the audience is most likely not to interrupt your speech. Here, the speaker can see the audience and judge from the expressions on their faces and body language if you are being understood.
