RETRONYM

Retronym is a word or phrase that has had to be renamed slightly in the light of another invention, etc.

For example, an ordinary guitar has become ‘acoustic guitar’ because of the existence of ‘electric guitar’. Similarly leather has sometimes become ‘real leather’ because of the existence of ‘imitation leather’.
